Our Story
We believe that no individual, family or community should be left behind. The initial thought sparked the creation of Elite Community Foundation (ECF) back in 2019. Our founder, Dr. Carol M. Brown saw that individuals both locally and globally were in need of assistance. Through her years of experience working as a healthcare provider and educator, she saw that individuals all over were struggling to find employment, health and education services. Instead of idly standing by, she jumped into action and created ECF just in the nick of time. The issue of underserved individuals was bad enough, but when the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, the need for an organization like this became even more apparent. Millions of people all over the world were impacted – some losing their jobs, their health, and even some losing their lives. Like Dr. Brown said “When we evade the issues, the individual, family, community and world suffers.” Dr. Brown refused to evade the issues and decided to become a catalyst for change.
Funded exclusively through grants and donations, ECF has been able to serve anyone in need by providing them access, knowledge and resources. Since its inception, ECF has used their resources to create educational programs designed to better the lives of individuals, their families, and their communities. When the pandemic was at its peak, ECF did not stand down and wait for things to pass. They again jumped into action and launched the ECF Wellness and Safety Series through Zoom. These informational sessions are designed to educate individuals on a variety of wellness and safety topics ranging from Disaster Preparedness to Domestic Violence to Breathing Exercises. By creating and funding programs like these, ECF can realize their ultimate goal to make sure that no individual, family or community be left behind.
How We Can Help
Did you know that residents of under-resourced communities make up 14% of the U.S. population and 31% of the nation’s poor? (Eberhardt et al, 2020). At Elite Community Foundation, we believe that no individual, family, or community should be left behind (Elite Community Foundation, 2023). This is why we offer different education programs, services and resources to underserved populations, including children, adults, and seniors.
Since our founding in 2019, we have served more than 3,000 individuals through our workshops and training programs. These programs have spread information and training programs. These programs have spread information and provided education to those who may not have access to it. A great example is our Introduction to Autism workshop, which helps to increase autism awareness by teaching attendees more about autism, early detection characteristics and interventions that can improve social skills and well-being. Attendees have expressed the positive impact these programs have on their lifestyles and overall health (Elite Community Foundation, 2023).
We believe that if we continue to support those in need, it will lead to stronger and healthier communities.
