ECF bridges the gap with another exceptional training!
Yes, we did it! ECF’s Introduction to Autism was an amazing success. We enrolled 143 magnificent learners in our free training which exceeded our goal by almost fifty percent. Our aim is to bring our autism training to every community; as well as to educate and provide access to as many people as able. Our Introduction to Autism training participants included parents, guardians, teachers, childcare providers, social workers, guidance counselors, retirees, grandparents, clergy, healthcare providers, and college students, just to mention a few. This training was accomplished with the support and partnership between Elite Community Foundation, Quest Advance Media, and Ponce Bank.
Autism affects individuals and families – locally, throughout the US, and globally. Early identification equals early services, treatments, and better outcomes and quality of life. Our training provided our participants with the knowledge to advocate for their child, family members, students, neighbors, or clients. We are thrilled with the demand for the Introduction to Autism. We currently have a waiting list for a future session.
ECF is seeking sponsors and donations to help with this effort. ECF is a 501c3 nonprofit. Sponsor this program here: https://www.ecfnys.org/partnership/. Many thanks to all our partners and volunteers that made this training a success! At ECF, we believe, “No individual, Community should be left behind™”. ECF will continue to bridge the disparity gap by exceptional training.

“This is a lot of information thanks for having me. Autism needs more recognition and easy access to information in Jamaica. It’s so hard to even find someone to access children to know what type of autism he or she has and ways to help that child school so that they can learn. I am really happy about the magnitude of information given here. I will use it in the future when I come in contact with children with autism. I know am going to share this information with some mother’s I know that have an autistic child. Thanks for the invite it was really informative. Thank you.” – Sophia
“First off I just want to thank you for extending this course internationally. It was greatly appreciated. With the increase in diagnosis of Autism in the Caribbean region , this course was needed. I am a Guidance Counsellor who works with secondary students diagnosed with varying disabilities and it’s through my experience, having worked overseas, that I am able to identify and be equipped to deal with the children. Many of the students I work with have not been assessed and I have to draw on my experiences to prompt the parents to get proper and earlier assessment. The course has shown the resources available and accessible and will help me to properly guide and educate the parents I will interact with, on Autism.” – Danielle
