Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Training

This Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training workshop is for educator certification in New York State.  DASA training addresses harassment, bullying, and discrimination prevention and intervention in schools.  The length of the training is at least six clock hours and typically includes at least three clock hours completed in-person (not online).  There are two 3-hour classes in this DASA Training: Part 1 – self-study online (3 hours) and Part 2 with a DASA Instructor (3 hours).  This course requires reliable internet connection, speakers, and a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer.

 

DASA Part 2 – Available 2nd Saturday each month

Available 4th Sunday each month

 

DASA Part 1 must be completed online within 1 week of Course Enrollment.  Then, select and reserve the date for DASA Part 2 by completing our in the Google Form.  DASA training certificates and information will not be issued unless both Part 1 and Part 2 are satisfactorily completed within 4 weeks of Course Enrollment.  Part 2 may occur online via Zoom due to restrictions.

 

DASA Training content:

  • Introduction to the Dignity Act
  • Understanding Diversity, Multi-cultural Environments, and Examining Personal Biases.
  • Developing sensitivity to the experiences of specific student populations.
  • Participants will understand the indicators and early warning signs.
  • Understanding how school climate and culture have an impact on student achievement and behavior.
  • Understanding how school climate and culture have an impact on student achievement and behavior.
  • Participants will learn intervention and prevention strategies including how to interact with families.
  • Reporting requirements for educators

 

**** The information that you submit to the workshop provider must be an exact match to the identifying information in your TEACH account (social security number, date of birth, full name).  Please make sure that the information in your TEACH account and matches the information that you submit to the workshop provider.  If it does not match, the processing of your workshop will be delayed.****

THE COURSE MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN FOUR (4) WEEKS OF PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION.  IF THE COURSE IS NOT COMPLETED WITHIN FOUR (4) WEEKS OF PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION, THE COURSE WILL BE DEREGISTERED AND ALL COURSE PROGRESS WILL BE FORFEITED.  REREGISTRATION FOR THE COURSE WILL REQUIRE A NEW, SEPARATE PAYMENT.

The course certificate is generated with the name of the person who purchases this course.  Under no circumstance will the names on certificates be substituted by our staff.  No substitutions or refunds are available.

Online course participants must have access to the Internet, a device with audio and video capabilities (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), a printer, and an email address.

Payment on behalf of another party is not accepted.  Debit and credit cards are acceptable forms of payment and must be in the student or course participant’s name.

RECHECK all forms for accuracy.  It is the responsibility of each course participant to enter their correct information into the system for their certificate and reporting.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

  1. Each Course Participant will be enrolled in Part 1 of this course (online self-study) within 48 hours of payment (“Course Enrollment”).
  2. Each Course Participant is responsible for providing their correct information (name, address, social security, and date of birth).
  3. DASA training will be reported to the NYS Education Department electronically within 7-14 days of completing this course.
  4. Keep the PDF copy of the Certificate of Completion for your records.
  5. No Refunds.
